It is here, in the tangles of branches and softness of moss where most secretive of the Faerie live.
Many things may lie in the turn of the path. Perhaps a cottage awaits where a wise woman will teach you the secrets of her garden. Or perhaps you will find a maiden enclosed within a coffin of glass, waiting in stillness for the touch of lips upon her own. Or perhaps you will find a castle surrounded by briar.
It is within the forest that many adventures of Faerie begin. The strange mists that filter through the stillness often form into vague shapes of beasts and monsters, confusing and frightening the mortal traveler.
This place is a place of illusions, of voices and sounds and seeings that will try to take the traveler from off her path, lead her into the forest, and make her forever lost within. Perhaps she will remember to gather pebbles to drop behind her as she investigates the strange and beautiful music that floats through the air with the mist.

LilAc
Although technically a tree, the blossoms of the lilac are filled with faerie and elf activity. The flower is fragrant and powerful, and as you learn to attune to the nature spirits associated with it, you will find the fragrance also has a musical harmony to it. The sweet scent is said to draw Fae spirits to your garden. These faeries can help harmonize our life and activate greater clairvoyance. They also can reveal to you past lives and how they are harmonized with your present. Lilac and primroses for midsummer’s eve will please the Fae.....
I love the fragrance of lilacs, and the blossoms and the whole trees. Remember them from childhood, when some big old lilac trees grew at the edge of our back yard... I so loved them.
Sad things is, that my husband's allergies don't allow us to have any ourselves. So I have to peek at them, elsewhere. :-)
For ages, I wore lilac cologne. {This doesn't bother him} Haven't had any in 'too long.' Perhaps your sweet post, will move me to rectify this situation soon.
Time in 'The Enchanted Forest' is getting so short. So I suggested that everyone come by quicky... before its portals close again, for half a year. :-)
